Hey guys! This is my FIRST blog post! I’m so excited to share this party with you that I put together for (my brother) Zane’s 10th Birthday. I will say this now. I’m a part-time, when the moment feels right kind of blogger. As much as I would love to blog full time… I just don’t have the passion for it. So, you’ll have to pay attention to my social media accounts to know when I’ve added a new blog post. Okay.. back to the party!
Zane’s Birthday was coming up and I really wanted to do something for him but I wasn’t sure what. I’ve also been in the process of getting the “Dream & Design” club put together so I’ve had a lot on my plate. With all of the new Star Wars movies coming out and our current love affair with Star Wars, I asked Zane if he would want a Star Wars themed Birthday. He said yes and I immediately got to work designing the graphics, backgrounds, and finally.. printables!
I’ve been working on putting together my younger Brothers bedroom and the theme is Star Wars in the colors that I used for his party. Their room was the main inspiration! As I’ve been so busy lately, all of the party planning was super last minute. I’m talking like less than two weeks! That may sound like a lot of time.. but I didn’t even know how I was going to decorate until the day before the party!
We had Zane’s party at the “Strike Zone” in Bronson, MI. As the lighting in there wasn’t that great and I wanted some cute photos to share with you, I took the photos the day before the party in our dining room.
Thankfully I have such a great sweets lady who was able to create the treats on such short notice! Autumn of Sparkling Sweets Boutique is such a sweetheart! I told her my vision and turnaround time and thankfully she was able to work with me! If you EVER need any type of treats, I definitely recommend Autumn! She does a superb job, is very generous, and goes out of her way to help you! She definitely hit the nail on the head with the cake pops, oreos, mini donuts and rock candy that she sent me. The rock candy was flipping awesome!!
Not wanting to put together a cake, my Mom contacted Melanie of Melanie’s Cake Shoppe and asked her to bake and decorate a cake for us. I emailed her the graphics/inspiration and she made the cake. She did such a good job! I just love the airbrush effect and silver beads in the frosting!
For party favors, I put together Light Sabers (bubble wands) with party tags that read “Yoda greatest. Thank you for coming to my party”. I also sent home “You don’t know the power of the dark side” candy bars with each kid.
Because I designed the invitation so late, we didn’t get a chance to mail them.. instead we texted them to guests! That is definitely a perk to living in the digital age! 😉
This super cool print was purchased from a seller on etsy. It’s going to hang in the Boy’s room when I get it finished! If you’re like me and want to know where I got it from, you can snag it here.
The rock candy “rocked”! See what I did there!? 😛
These frames from Ikea are so cute and inexpensive! I use them in almost every party.
I hope you enjoyed seeing what I put together for Zane. Remember, parties are fun to put together, but don’t stress the details! In the end it’s about the memories made and time spent with friends and family. “May the force be with you”!
P:S Next week I will be sharing a free printable from this party! 🙂
